Who We Are

darryDarry Madden is co-founder and director of photography for Boston Localvores. She grew up slinging hash on Long Island and, later, in forgotten towns along the Connecticut River. As a young adult,  she read a book by Peter Singer called Practical Ethics. It set her on a path to eating locally way before Michael Pollan made it fashionable. At home in the kitchen she is the mistress of simple, elegant and delicious peasant fare.

kcKristi Ceccarossi is co-founder and web designer for Boston Localvores. When she is not promoting small and sustainable food systems, she is a class warrior and very interested in the intersection of place and digital media. She proudly hails from a working class food desert on the Northern Shores of Boston and likes to tell people her arrival to the world of local food was accidental — and indisputable proof that this local foods thing cannot and should not be the exclusive domain of wealthy white people.
